Gevorg Galstian

Directing

Gevorg Galstian (b. 1993, Novorossiysk, Russia) is an artist working in film, video, and installation, as well as a film editor. He studied architecture in Moscow and later earned a Master’s degree at the Paris School of Architecture. Transitioning to cinema, he graduated from the Saint Petersburg School of New Cinema in the directing program and from the editing department at FAMU in Prague. His work focuses on experimental and documentary strategies to explore themes of intimacy, permanence, memory, and recollection, as well as the analysis of film language and semiotics. He works with Super 8 and 16mm film, self-developing and editing on a flatbed. He teaches film editing and conducts open workshops on film montage for students.
