Hilusha Hewagama

Directing

Hilusha Hewagama (born 1992) is a leading Sri Lankan filmmaker. In school, he excelled in art. Later, he got the opportunity to enter the University of Visual and Performing Arts. His first short film was Mutant (Best Film Audience Award, Colombo International Student Film Festival 2014) and the second short film is The Day. It has been selected to Cannes film festival (Under corner category of short films) and 7th International students' Film festival (official selection) in India in 2015, this film also gained the award of the most promising Filmmaker, in' Agenda 14 short film festival' (Sri Lanka) in 2015.
