Javier Becerril

Directing

Born in Seville, Javier Becerril showed a passion for storytelling from an early age, which led him to study Journalism and Audiovisual Communication, culminating in a Master's Degree in Cinematography and Visual Arts in 2024. During his career as a director, screenwriter, producer and editor, he has developed more than 20 projects, including short films, documentaries and video art, which have been recognised at national and international festivals in Spain, France, Colombia, Mexico, Chile and various other countries, such as the Seville Indie Film Festival, the Certamen de Cortometrajes de la Provincia de Sevilla and the International Diverse Film Festival, among others. His most recent and award-winning work, Autorretrato (2024), reflects his concern for social issues and his aesthetic and narrative evolution.
