Hilbard is best known for directing the "Bedside" series (Sengekanten), a collection of eight films produced between 1970 and 1976. These films, including Bedroom Mazurka (1970) and Bedside Highway (1972), were part of a wave of erotic comedies that became popular in Denmark during that era.
